Good Morning readers, for those of us Seesmic addicts, yesterday, Seesmic made some additions to their list of features within the Seesmic Android Application. With the announcement of an official Twitter Application for Android, all 3rd Party Twitter app developers seems to be stepping up their features to try and bring the best features to stand out. No features have been announced for the official Twitter app, but that is not stopping Seesmic and others. For Seesmic, the new features include:

  • A widget
Yes, a free Twitter app that includes a widget! As you can tell from the screenshot above, it blends in very well with Android 2.1′s style, and looks great with Sense UI as well.
  • Native Retweet
Yes, you can now natively retweet as you could in the Twitter website. A very fine addition  and unobtrusive change.
  • Geotagging
Three styles to pick from – your location, a human readable address, or a map link.  You can set this in the apps options to happen all the time, or choose to include it when you compose a new tweet. Definitely a wanted option for users finally addressed.

Final Thoughts
As a update, Seesmic did great. I am not sure if its on anyone else’s mind, with the acquisition of ping.fm, where is the option to login with that account as you could with their blackberry app? That is a feature that I really would love to see. Why send out an email to ping.fm if it were included on the Seesmic App.
